Throwback of the Day: Notorious B.I.G. - Miss You
So I had Pac as yesterday's throwback of the day so I thought I might as well put the Notorious B.I.G. on today. One of the biggest hip hop influences ever to touch the mic, Biggie was probably one of the biggest emcees in the game when I was growing up. Literally. But Biggie shed his tough and oversized exterior in this heart-felt track about a lost homey. 112 chimes the hook in on a smooth, laid back instrumental orchestrated by producer/DJ Kay Gee, who also was the original DJ for NJ's own Naughty By Nature. The loop that Kay Gee freaked is a sample from Diana Ross' 1984 song Missing You, an ode to the late great Marvin Gaye written by Lionel Richie. Richie actually even got co-songwriter credits for the this track. Another one of my favorites from a fallen great.. Check it and leave one
